Audi continues golfing commitment in 2008 parallel to world-wide success

Not only is Audi becoming more and more successful in several segments dominated in the past through BMW and Mercedes, but Audi also didn’t miss to maintain and even increase its commitment for various sports fields, especially golfing. Audi’s successful golfing commitment now spans the space of nearly two decades. The following is an overview of the engagement of AUDI AG in the 2008 golf season:

Audi quattro Cup
2008 already marks the staging of the 18th edition of this internationally acclaimed tournament series. Between April and September – at the invitation of respective regional Audi partners – the qualification tournaments will be held as "foursomes with selection drive” for teams of two players each. The winners will participate in the German finals in Bad Griesbach from 4 to 8 September 2008. The German finalists in turn will qualify for participation in the Audi quattro Cup World Finals to be staged at the Golf Resort ABAMA on the Canarian Island of Tenerife from 17 to 21 October. Around the world, the Audi quattro Cup ranks among the biggest and most popular amateur tournament series. In 2007, Audi partners from over 40 countries around the globe organized over 700 tournaments. More than 80,000 amateur golfers participated in these competitions. In Germany alone, over 160 tournaments with a total of more than 19,000 players were held.

Audi Ladies Cup
The "Audi Ladies Cup” was launched in 1995. Every year some 7,000 female amateurs participate in the competition at the invitation of regional Audi partners. The Audi Ladies Cup has the format of an annual eclectic: at least six times during the summer months, the lady golfers tee off on their respective golf courses, and the best result per hole, respectively, is counted in the final score.

Audi is new exclusive automobile partner of the DGV
AUDI AG supports the German Golfing Association (DGV) founded in 1907 as exclusive automobile partner and provides several leasing vehicles as part of this commitment. In addition, as one of the three main sponsors, Audi with its brand logo, the four rings, will be featured on the DGV ID cards of the 525,000 golfers who are members of the Germany-wide organization.

Début of "HypoVereinsbank Ladies German Open presented by Audi”
On 29 May the ”HypoVereinsbank Ladies German Open presented by Audi" will tee off for its début event: up to June 1st the pros of the Ladies European Tour (LET) will compete in the newly incepted tournament at Golfpark Gut H?usern near Munich. For the German elite around top player Martina Eberl, this provides the opportunity to present themselves to their home audience. Audi has the status of the official Presenting Sponsor at the tournament and also provides the official shuttle service for the "Ladies German Open". The four rings will be included in the tournament logo as well as in all marketing activities.

Süddeutsche Zeitung Business Golf Cup
This year AUDI AG is again the Presenting Sponsor of the Süddeutsche Zeitung Business Golf Cup. The Cup features a total of 15 one-day tournaments played on selected German golf courses with teams of four. The competition will be staged according to the proven Ryder Cup variant which, above all, puts the team spirit and tactical skills of the partners to the test. The Süddeutsche Zeitung Business Golf Cup will start at the Wittelsbacher Golfclub Rohrenfeld-Neuburg on 6 May, followed by a tour of Germany with stops, among others, in Hamburg, Berlin, Stuttgart and Würzburg. The last qualification tournament in late summer will be played at the Golfclub St. Eurach on Lake Starnberg. As in previous years, the "gross and net finalists” will travel to southern regions to stage their crucial competitions at top resorts there. Partner of Omega European Masters 2008
The partnership between Audi and the "Omega European Masters” is entering its third year in 2008. The tournament will be staged from 4 to 7 September in Crans-Montana. Audi is providing more than 20 vehicles for shuttle services, is presenting itself with extensive branding, flags and other forms of advertising, and, in addition, sponsors an attractive ”Hole-in-One-Prize".

Audi co-sponsors Irish Open in 2008 as well
In 2008, AUDI AG is continuing its co-sponsoring commitment for the ”Irish Open" that was begun in 2007. The tournament will be held at the course of the Adare Manor golf club near Limerick from 15 to 18 May. Audi is the ”Official Car of the Irish Open" and provides the shuttle service for players and officials. As the Hole-in-One-Prize" Audi provides an A5.
